AchievementEIFEL research paper accepted

Description

Our paper on the use of an e-portfolio at City University has been accepted for the EIFEL e-portfolio international conference. Our research team will be presenting on: "Evaluation of the implementation of an e-portfolio system – processes versus platform?"

The Learning Development Centre has been engaged in evaluation City Universities current e-portfolio system - PebblePad.

I am the research assistant in a small team which includes the E-Portfolio Project Manager and E-Portfolio Project Co-Ordinator.

As part of the evaluation we have carried out both qualitative and quantitative research looking into how staff and student users engage with e-portfolio. The conference paper will report on aspects of our findings.

About the event:
One event, three conferences! Learning Forum London offers for the first time three complementary events: the 7th International ePortfolio conference, Key Competencies—Skills for Life and Learning Networks & Communities. This year's event main theme is "Innovation, Creativity and Accountability."

22-24 June, London welcomes the 7th International ePortfolio conference. This event will be the opportunity to explore the progress accomplished towards the "ePortfolio for all" goal and set the agenda for 2010 and the years to come. The conference will be part of a larger event, Learning Forum London, which includes 2 other conferences: the 7th international ePortfolio conference and Learning Networks and Communities. Experts and practitioners from all continents are expected to take part in this unique event.

Reflection

To be part of the evaluation is a great pleasure as i am learning from those who are more knowledgeable in the field of reflective learning and e-portfolio's.

Then to have this paper accepted is a BIG Bonus which will help me to develop in many ways. At the very least, just to be able to mix with the "e-portfolio people" will be a great opportunity and experience.
