AchievementFirst Conference Paper Presentation

Description

I have received confirmation that my research paper: "Effective use of PowerPoint in UK Higher Education" has been accepted for a conference presentation.

The Learning at City Conference will be held on the 4th of June 2009, where i will have the opportunity to present my research to an academic audience.

This is the main event of the week, a full one day conference on learning development at City. This will include an opening address by the DVCE and a morning of conference sessions, on learning and teaching. There will also be the main awards ceremony given by the Vice Chancellor. This will be followed by a debate: "Does the use of technology in learning enhance or inhibit the development of critical thinking and creative problem solving" with Patrick Carmichael, Mark Johnson, Les Watson and Lawrie Phipps

Reflection

As should be expected, a first conference paper presentation has invoked mixed emotions of excitement and apprehension. Although i have presented many times before, i guess the new occasion brings out old emotions.

Generally, this is a great blessing as i am presenting a paper amongst other professionals whom have in depth knowledge of their relevant field.

I will now create an action plan to be best prepared for what promises to be a memorable day.
